Weaving A Journey To the World Expo 2025

The Philippines' pavilion is a testament to the country's creativity, cultural heritage, and commitment to a sustainable future.
The design team, Tellart with Architect Carlo Calma (center right).

The Philippines' pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka promises to be a captivating journey into the heart of the country. Designed by Architect Carlo Calma and his team, the pavilion's theme, "Nature, Culture, and Community: Woven Together for a Better Future," is embodied in its very design. The facade draws inspiration from Philippine indigenous weaving traditions, showcasing the nation's rich diversity and interconnectedness.

Visitors will be treated to a multi-sensory experience upon entering the pavilion. They will walk through a forest of handwoven artworks representing the Philippines' 18 unique regions, culminating in an interactive, AI-powered fiesta. This immersive experience, designed by Tellart, a studio specializing in multisensory spaces, will leave visitors with a lasting impression of the Philippines' wonders.

The key aspect of the design is sustainability. The Philippine pavilion utilizes indigenous renewable materials in its construction, and the structure and exhibits are planned to have a "second life" back in the Philippines after the expo.
